What is Lucky’s Belgian Fries?
Lucky’s Belgian Fries is a premium fries concept designed to build successful fry shops through a franchise formula.
Dreaming of owning your own fry shop?
Then take a Lucky’s Belgian Fries franchise and start with a head start.
What do we know about fries?
We know one thing for sure: Belgium is the land of fries.
Thanks to the ‘potato belt’ in the North-East of Belgium, Belgium has access to the best potatoes in the world for making fries. Nowhere else in the world has fry culture been developed as intensively as in Belgium — and particularly in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium, Flanders.
In this dossier, you will discover how two Belgians developed the international fries concept ‘Lucky’s Belgian Fries’.
History of Lucky’s Belgian Fries
In 2018, two Belgians, Luc R. and Gert Van Mol, developed the Lucky’s Belgian Fries concept. After years of research into the best potatoes, tastiest meat products, sauces, and vegetarian options, Luc and Gert travelled to China to establish their first partnerships. From there, they continued to Hungary to further study the fries industry. In Budapest, they opened a state-of-the-art flagship fry shop at one of the city’s busiest locations.
The Brand
Luc and Gert have carefully crafted a strong and distinctive brand identity for Lucky’s Belgian Fries. Every element — from the furniture and interior to the smallest details — was designed to create a clear and consistent identity. Luc R. is a natural inventor and problem solver. He has designed several fry shop products that make operations more efficient and profitable.
Abbreviation
Internally, employees of Lucky’s Belgian Fries often refer to the brand as ‘LBF’ for convenience.
The Logo
Gert Van Mol chose to model the Lucky’s Belgian Fries logo after the face of his partner, Luc — similar to how Colonel Sanders is the face of KFC. The logo radiates a human, approachable feel, which perfectly represents what LBF stands for: a fry concept carried by good, hard-working people whose goal is to serve fast, delicious meals that bring joy to people all over the world.

Materials
Extensive time and energy were invested in developing custom packaging, designed for enjoying fries and drinks both in-store and on the go. Our containers and cups have been crafted to ensure that every carrier reinforces the Lucky’s Belgian Fries brand, whether inside or outside the shop.

Machines
At Lucky’s Belgian Fries, we design and manufacture our own frying ranges tailored to the specific locations where we build our shops. Frying ranges for the Chinese market are typically larger than those for the Belgian market.

*
Uniform
We chose the colors red and black. Order and cleanliness are very important to LBF. The black apron is indispensable in the shop.

Can you get rich with an LBF fry shop?
That is obviously the question everyone asks. The answer is: “Yes, but…”
You can earn a very good living with an LBF franchise if you are willing to work hard. If you are looking for a typical office job with fixed hours, then a LBF franchise is not for you. To succeed in the fry business — whether with a LBF franchise or your own shop — you need to be a strong entrepreneur with a genuine passion for people and food.
We have created a self-assessment questionnaire. If you complete it honestly and score lower than 7 out of 10, we advise that an LBF franchise is not the right fit for you.
For suitable candidates, we offer an internal LBF Academy where we teach you all the tricks of the trade.
Franchise Conditions (2026 figures)
You can start a LBF franchise in an existing fry shop, or you can build a new LBF fry shop according to our franchise standards.
We understand that not everyone has the capital to open a fry shop immediately.
We primarily partner with candidates who have the financial resources to build and professionally operate an LBF fry shop. However, we also have the means to support motivated entrepreneurs who do not yet have all the funding. Naturally, different conditions apply depending on the candidate’s financial situation.

Investment Figures
If you want to open a new LBF fry shop from scratch in a large city, you should count on the following costs:
- Rent: Minimum €5,000 per month (depending on the city, size, and location of the premises)
- Construction cost: Average of €400,000 to build a fry shop from scratch
- Monthly operating costs (with a minimal team): Approximately €40,000
These are serious investments.
That is why we are only looking for serious, driven, and committed entrepreneurs for our franchise partnership.
